On May 22, 2018 the Rockport Board of Health added its six municipally owned beaches to its current tobacco regulations’ areas where smoking is prohibited. Rockport is the 73rd municipality to ban smoking on its beaches. This also follows an October of 2014 decision that all state beaches operated by DCR went smoke free. The Board of Health believes this to be a sound public health measure that will help protect, promote, and enhance public health for all beachgoers.
Smoking of any type (including cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vaping, cigars, marijuana, etc.) is banned on Long Beach, Cape Hedge Beach, Front Beach, Back Beach, Old Garden Beach, and Pebble Beach.
