Marijuana Info Session-April 3rd to Vote at Town Meeting

Marijuana Ballot

The Board of Health, Police Department, and the Planning Board invite all residents, businesses, and community members to a very important information session to discuss banning or allowing recreational marijuana establishments to operate in Rockport. This session is being held on Tuesday, April 3rd at the High School Auditorium from 7-8:30 p.m. and is free of charge and open to the public.   Please see the flier (click here) for more information/details.

On April 7th, Town Meeting residents will vote (must pass by 2/3 vote) to send the question (of whether residents want to BAN or ALLOW recreational marijuana establishments in Town) to a general election ballot in May.  If a 2/3 vote at Town Meeting approves, there will then be a general election/ballot on May 15th as to whether you want to ban or allow recreational marijuana establishments setting up in Town.

(As a side note, the state of Massachusetts has legalized marijuana but this vote is strictly to determine if Rockport residents want to allow or ban the sale of marijuana in our Town).
