The Planning Board studies the resources and needs of the Town, particularly conditions affecting public welfare and safety related to land use and development. It has total responsibility for all subdivisions, for the administration of the subdivision bylaw, and for oversight of land reallocations, protection of wetlands and watersheds, and review of site plans required by the town's zoning bylaws. and the associated zoning map. The Board has the primary responsibility for the writing of zoning bylaws, which must be approved by the Town Meeting.
