Elder Affairs

The Rockport Police Department has always strived to protect the senior citizens of Rockport through law enforcement, education, support programs, and referral to and working with other senior protective organizations.

In 2019 Officer Mary Fountain was appointed by the Board of Selectmen as the Officer for Elder Affairs. Officer Fountain, with the support of Chief John Horvath and the entire Rockport Police Department, continues to enhance our commitment to Rockport's seniors.

File of Life

The File of Life was introduced to the residents of Rockport in 1996 by the Rockport Police Department. It soon became a positive way for the department to reintroduce itself to the senior citizens of Rockport.

The File of Life is a red plastic magnetic file folder that attaches to your refrigerator. The file contains vitally important medical information about you so that emergency medical professionals have quick access to your basic medical information. The File of Life is free of charge and can be obtained at the Rockport Police Department. It is available to residents of any age.
