Winter Parking Information
In accordance with the policy below, please be advised that due to the anticipated snow storm expected in our area, the Overnight Winter Parking Ban will go into effect on Saturday January 7, 2017 at midnight. During the winter parking ban there is no overnight parking allowed on any town streets or roads between the hours of 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. The Code Red phone call notification will be conducted at 5:30 PM on Friday, January 6, 2017.
This Ban shall remain in full force and effect until April 1 st or until a declaration is made by the Police Chief and the DPW Director to remove the ban, whichever comes first.

Beginning 24 Hours before the first significant snow storm the annual winter parking ban will be in effect between the hours of midnight and 6:00 AM. On-street parking is prohibited during this time. Notification of the ban will be made by CodeRed notification and on the Town website. Determination of the start of the ban will be by Rockport DPW and Rockport Police, based on weather reports and forecasts. The parking ban will end on April 1, 2017, or earlier if determined by DPW and Police.
If you haven't already, you may sign up for CodeRed notifications on the Town's website. Just look for the "CodeRed" button on the left side of the home page. The CodeRed program in Rockport is managed by Lt. Mark Schmink of the Rockport Police Department.
Parking will be allowed in the following areas of Town (see map here):
- The perimeter of the resident parking lot adjacent to Town Hall (Resident Sticker Required)
- Back Beach at the metered parking spots in front of the restrooms (General Parking)
- T-Wharf (General Parking and Resident Sticker Required, based on posted signs)
- Town of Rockport lot at MBTA train station, as posted
