On Tuesday, January 24, Lt. Governor Karyn Polito and Chairman of the Board of Selectmen Paul Murphy signed a Community Compact Agreement to adopt the best practice of completing a Master Plan to guide land conservation and development decisions including zoning and land acquisition. The project will be carried out by the Planning Board which holds statutory authority for the creation of a Master Plan. The compact also has many additional benefits including the receipt of bonus points on state grant applications and prioritization for technical assistance programs from the Commonwealth. In addition to Lt. Governor Polito and Chairman Murphy, the signing was attended by Selectman Don Campbell, Planning Board Chairman Herman Lilja, Planning Board Members Ed Hand and Terry Duffy, and Town Administrator Linda Sanders.
