DPW-Sewer Treatment Division

The Sewer Treatment Division is responsible for the treatment of wastewater from the Town’s sanitary sewer collection system.  The Wastewater Plant for the Town of Rockport is rated to treat 800,000 gallons of wastewater each day.  There are 11 pump stations that move the waste to the plant on Pleasant Street.  The Plant was built in 1976, upgraded in 1985, and then again in 2004.  It is a fine bubble extended aeration system which discharges the treated water off the coastline near Bearskin Neck.
