With concerns about the possibility of a public health emergency such as a natural disaster, act of terrorism, or disease outbreak, you can take steps now to help you prepare in the event that a catastrophic event occurs. The Center for Disease Control provides step-by-step actions to protect yourself and your loved ones; see the link below as well as other important links to help educate and prepare you for handling stressful or dangerous situations.

The Emergency Team is located at the Rockport Police Station at 168 Main Street and includes Emergency Management Director Lt. Mark W. Schmink and Deputy Director Officer Daniel J. Mahoney.   TheTeam coordinates and notifies the public of significant and critical events.  

The Town has a 'reverse 911' "code red" notification system for residents a in the event of a natural or manmade disaster.  To sign up to receive Code Red Alerts, you may do so on the home page of the website on the left sidebar; this allows the notifications/instructions to be sent directly to your phone either by voice or text.  YOU MAY ALSO CLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR CODE RED ALERTS (Please note that the Town will not share your phone/information with anyone; this information will be used ONLY for the Code Red Alerts).

The Emergency Management Team, First Responders, Police, Fire, Volunteers, Board of Health, and Public Nurse are among the Town's many trained professionals to assist residents in emergencies depending upon the situation.
